In order to get the most out of their academic experience students really should not miss any days of school. However, there are times when missing school cannot be avoided. In Ohio, the amount of days a student can miss varies by their district.
Mississippi requires that students attend school. "Notice: If your child misses TWELVE (12) or more unexcused days of school, you will be in violation of the Mississippi Compulsory School Attendance Laws.
Students are excused from attending if attending court hearings, or are ill. Students with long term illnesses can ask for homebound instruction.
