Another reason why people travel to Madison is to take advantage of all the cultural events that the city offers. Due in large part to the University of Wisconsin, the city of Madison holds many different art and musical festivals. There are also various theatres that bring in well renowned symphonies and plays. The main downtown of Madison, which is located near the university, is littered with bars, restaurants, boutique shops, cafes, and coffee houses.
