1. Loosen the idler pullery bracket adjustment and pivot bolts. 2. Position a suitable belt tension gauge. 3. Install a 1/2 in. breaker bar in the hole in the idler pulley bracket. Apply tension to the belt using the breaker bar. 4. Set the tension on a new belt to 170 lbs or a used belt to 140lbs. While maintaining the tension, tighten the adjustment bolt to 30ft. lbs 5. Remove the belt tension gauge and the breaker bar. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes. 6. Shut the engine off, then reinstall the belt tension gauge and breaker bar. Apply tension with the breaker bar and slowly loosen the adjustment bolt to allow belt tension to increase to the used belt specification, 140 ft. lbs. Tighten the adjustment bolt to 30 ft. lbs. 7. Tighten the pivot bolt to 50ft. lbs.

You have to use the same belt and install a dummy pulley kit in place of the ac compressor.
Replacing the AC belt is probably one of the easiest things to do... Just simply losen the tensioner pulley and remove belt... Install new belt on all the pulleys then tighten the tensioner pulley. Its that easy.
I have seen on an Olds forum that the belt for the 86 olds 88 w/o a/c will work. It should be 75.5 in instead of 103 (the 1986 88 belt is 76.1 in)
The AC compressor was locked on my Sonata 2004 - V6-2.7. The original serpentine belt broke. I bypassed it with a Duralast 6PK1700 (OLD NO. 670K6). The autotensioner has to be removed to install the belt.
