Aborigines have a very close connection with their homeland which is part of their very identity. Their soul was infused with the earth, and to be dispossessed of their tribal lands meant they lost that connection and therefore their very spiritual identity.

Aboriginals did not knowingly take care of the environment. They were in relatively small numbers in the Australian continent and therefore had a relatively low impact on it. The were also nomadic staying in an area until the supply of food was reduced and then moving on, returning later when the area had replenished.
