Then you need a work permit. But before that you need a job offer. As Americans (from anywhere in north or South America) are NOT EU citizens, you can only get a work permit if a company needs you and applies for the work permit on your behalf.

as a 23-year old hotel manager in Luganne, Switzerland, I have not met many fellow manager's with American GPA's. I am from Manhattan, my mom is originally from Zurich, and I moved here just last year. I accumulated a 4.02 GPA is high school, and i think that's around the avg for an American hotel manager in Swizerland around here. However, the competition is so fierce, that you should certainly strive for a higher echelon of grades. 4.1 I think should suffice for a lower-tier hotel management job in Luganne, but if your GPA is between 3.9 and 4.1, you should try applying for a hotel management job on the outskirts of Basel, where they are more accepting of less academically amazing Americans (Swiss generally resent Americans as uncultured, etc., so they are strict about giving relatively high jobs to Americans.)
