Yes, as long as you are also a resident of Florida. Sorry, I should have also said this: You can buy a handgun from a private party if you don't live in Florida, but to be legal, the owner would have to ship the gun to a dealer in your state, and you would have to pick it up there. There will almost always be a charge for that.

No, you do not need a permit to purchase a gun in Florida. You DO need one if you are going to carry it on your person, but not to purchase it.

No. No license is required for the puchase of a handgun. You only need a license if you carry the gun on your person in public.

For open carry, it is prohibited; except to carry openly while hunting in which case you need a hunting license.
