I work with (and quite possibly, soon, FOR) a narcissist and I believe I have seen him go through bouts of depression, but I would not say it is depression as most of us would define it. It is more like days of being "down." He gets quiet, the arrogance and boasting and wanting to be the center of attention are temporarily gone. He is not loud and obnoxious or bragging about one thing or another. He keeps to himself. But these times do not last more than a day or two at a time and they are rare. I would not call it a "clinical depression," only a temporary depression.
Answer Well i know they do they get normal and very quiet and my ex N would also say he was a piece of dirt that didnt ask to come into this world and would say he was a damaged person and got a look on his face as a sad frightened child and then went lay down because he had a headache,but maybe lasted a weekend or so usually when he had a lot of free time but soon enough he went gaming on the internet for hours...
