A wise man once said, to watch television is expensive. Okay, maybe that does not take very much wisdom, and it may not even be true. But the fact remains that if you want the works--if you want premium channels with the sports packages and every NFL game every season--you can expect to pay upwards of $130 or more per month. If you want basic cable with several staple networks like NBC and CBC, then you are only going to pay around $19 to $24 per month. Everything in between is going to vary on what you want to watch.

To determine what your cable bill will be, you have to determine what kind of service you are going to get. If you are getting full service--all of the channels, movies, sports packages, pay per view access and all the frills, then you are going to pay a lot more per month than someone who is getting basic cable using a cable box. If you want to have news channels and the major networks like ABC, NBC and CBS and that is all that you want, then you will pay maybe $19 to $24 per month. If you want the works, you will pay closer to $90 per month. Perhaps more.
