There were many animals found in Ancient Egypt. Some of the wild ones include jackels, scorpions, vultures, hippopotomus and crocodiles. The domestic animals were mostly cattle, but the rich had monkeys and other african animals imported as pets.
Ancient Egypt had such a long history that at various times and in various cities & temples, different animals were considered to be sacred and had cult worshipers. For example: A. Bulls were worshiped and considered sacred in Armant & Heliopolis; B. Fish were worshiped at Esna; C. Rams were sacred on Elephatine Island; D. Crocodiles in Kom Ombo; During the thousands of years of ancient Egypt under the pharaohs many other animals were deemed to be sacred, such as cats.
The sacred insect in Egypt was the scarab, or dung beetle. It was used for amulets and was related to their religion.

Most gods that take animal form can come from Egypt and India. In Egypt, God of the underworld, Anubis, has a dog head. Almost all of the Gods in Egypt will take an animal form. Many gods in India will be and elephant or cow. The cow is a sacred animal to the Indians.
