Well, this is very important question for all travellers because having all knowledge about the hotel accommodation is more helpful in staying at a luxury hotel. Each hotel will have their own name for the different room types, but their basically all either a family, double, twin or single room. Some may have suites, triples, quads or non-ensuite rooms, or different types of say double room (with larger beds, larger rooms, different views or facilities), but put simply it usually boils down to these basic 4 types:
Family room: Typically Sleeps 3 - 5 people. There is normally one double bed (for parents) and up to 3 single beds (which may include a bunk bed).
Double room: Sleeps up to 2 people in a double bed
Twin room: Sleeps 2 people in 2 single beds
Single Room: Sleeps 1 person in 1 single bed
The basic types of hotels are: 1. Transient - a transient hotel is one that caters to people while they are temporarily away from home, whether for a day, week, or month, on business or for pleasure. Most of the transient hotels are in the provinces. An example of this are the hotels in the tagaytay. Many people decided to make their houses as transient hotels. Or some of the rooms in their house also. But if it is a room, it is very basic. I mean, it is just a simple bedroom. Because most of the people who occupies it, are those people who are in the seminar or meeting for the whole day, and they will use the room just for sleeping! the other one is the... 2. Residential - The best definition of this type, and the one most easily understood, is an apartment house with full hotel services. If the transient is just a room,or just a little house, maybe the residential has a one place that contains a lot of houses but it is all hotels. I think, it might be looks like a housing of apartment, but like what I have said,it is all apartment.
