She made the American Girl because she wants to make girls have fun, but still at the same time learn with their educational Historic Characters, Such as: Samantha. This character's book takes place in 1914. This book teaches girls about the struggle with familys during the battle between Germany, and the Dutch. And Addy, who takes place during slavery. Her, her mother, her baby sister, her father, and her older brother struggle as they make their way through the pain. But Addy keeps her head up no matter what. And the whole point of the dolls is for their favorite Girl Of The Years, and Historic Characters come to life. I have 2 American Girl dolls, they both are the Just Like You dolls. The Just Like You ( JLY ) dolls are for girls who want to atleast have their dolls look like them, instead of having the Historic Characters, and Girl Of The Year dolls.
