In 1997, in conjunction with Larami Toys, the "nerf blaster" called the SupermaXX was released. Hasbro created a line of foam projectile launchers using the Nerf material introduced with the Nerf Ball in 1970.

The first Nerf blaster was the Blast-A-Ball set, released in 1989. It included two ball-shooting blasters, each with three balls. They had a capacity of one ballistic ball and were replaced the following year with the Blast-A-Matic, a similar blaster which shot three balls instead of one.

The first Nerf product was called the Nerf Ball and was released in 1969. The first Nerf blaster, however, was released in 1989, and was called the Blast-A-Ball, which fired one Ball.

The first Nerf toy was an orange, foam ball. The name Nerf stands for the type of foam they use to make their balls and darts.

The first actual Nerf blaster was the Rocket Air Launcher in 1976, but the first actual Nerf pistol would most likely be either the NB-1 or the Sharpshooter, both released in 1992.
