The reason why is because you know how if someone catches you doing drugs or killing people they say your destroying your life? Well Jigsaw wants people to learn the meaning of life. All those people were drug addicts and druggies and murderers and Jigsaw wants to see if their life is really important to them. I fail to see how terrorizing, torturing, maiming, and mutiliating a person is supposed to "help" them. And who the hell asked him to be the sole arbiter of what their life is worth? Seriously, who does he think he is?
All of the Saw films have Jigsaw in them, but from Saw 5 on you only see flashbacks of him, as the character is dead.
