What is qof?

Qof (ק) is the 19th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It has the sound of k in Modern Hebrew, but historically it was pronounced further back in the throat, and is often represented with a q.More information about QofQoph or Qop (Phoenician Qōp Phoenician qoph.svg) is the nineteenth letter of the Semitic abjads. Aramaic Qop (?) is derived from the Phoenician letter, and derivations from Aramaic include:Phoenician Qof = ?Hebrew Qof = קUgaritic Qop = ?Syriac Qōp̄ = ܩArabic Qāf = ق.Its original sound value was a West Semitic emphatic stop, presumably [kˤ] or [q]. In Hebrew gematria, it has the numerical value of 100.The origin of the glyph shape of qōp is uncertain. It is usually suggested to have originally depicted either a sewing needle, specifically the eye of a needle (the Hebrew קוף means "hole"), or the back of a head and neck (qāf in Arabic meant "nape"). According to an older suggestion, it may also have been a picture of a monkey and its tail.Besides Aramaic Qop, which gave rise to the letter in the Semitic abjads used in classical antiquity, Phoenician qōp is also the origin of the Latin letter Q and Greek Ϙ (qoppa) and Φ (phi).

Those who speak Syriac (Surit) just say "qawa". Starting letter is "qop" (19th letter of the alphabet). The word is similar to Arabic "gahwa" but pronunciation is not the same.

Show that sum of all the angles around a point is 360?

l M l l Q____l____ N lO l l l P Let MP & NQ be lines intersecting at O. Then angle MON + angle NOP = 180 degrees (linear pair) Angle MOQ + angle QOP = 180 degrees (linear pair) Adding the equations, Angle MON + Angle NOP + Angle MOQ + Angle QOP = 180 + 180 degrees = 360 degrees. Therefore all angles around O sum upto 360 degrees.

What is the bond angle in methylene?

The bond angle in methylene (CH2) is approximately 120 degrees, which is close to the ideal sp2 hybridization angle. This angle allows for maximum separation between the hydrogen atoms, minimizing repulsive interactions.

Why 'q' is followed by 'u' in most of the words like queue and quest etc?

It all started long before English even existed. The Phoenicians had two symbols in their alphabet for k, for the very best of reasons - in their language, as in other Semitic languages such as Hebrew and Arabic, there are two distinct k sounds, only one of which exists in English. The one we don't have - a guttural sound at the back of the mouth - the Phoenicians represented by a symbol that they called qop (their word for a monkey). This was used in particular before vowels that are also sounded at the back of the mouth, especially o and u. The Greeks took the Phoenician symbol over as qoppa or koppa. This isn't in the classical Greek alphabet - it was dropped as unnecessary around 400BC, because Greek has never had the sound it represents. However, a version of the Greek alphabet that did still contain koppa was borrowed by the Etruscans (they probably got it from Greek colonists who settled in Campania). The Etruscan alphabet actually had three symbols for the k sound - gamma was used before e and i, kappa was used before a and koppa before o and u (gamma was available because Etruscans had no hard "g" sound in their language). In turn (you're still following my steps around the Mediterranean, I hope), the Romans took their alphabet from the Etruscans; like the Greeks, Latin had only the one k sound. As a result, over time kappa was dropped, koppa evolved into q, and gamma into c (these changes explain why Greek words spelled with k have their Latin equivalents spelled with c). The Romans used q only before u, though the combination was actually written as qv, since v was a vowel in classical Latin, to represent the kwsound that was so common in the language. If we move on about a thousand years, we find that Old English had the same sound, but represented it by cw, since q had been left out of their version of the alphabet (so queen in Old English was spelled cwen, for example). French, however, continued the Latin qv, though by now written as qu. After the Norman Conquest, French spelling gradually took over in England, eventually replacing the Old English cw by Latinate qu, though this change took about 300 years to complete. As many writers have since pointed out, the change was unnecessary, as we don't need qu in the alphabet any more than the English before the Norman Conquest did - cw would work as well most of the time and in those situations in which qu is said as k, as in words from French like antique, we could use c or k instead). After all this, the reason why versions of Arabic words written in English use q without a following u is easy to understand - it's a neat way of transcribing that guttural k sound (the Arabic letter qaf) that's faithful to the way the alphabet has evolved over more than two millennia.

Is Britney Spears the Queen of Pop?

Opinions from our users_______________________________________________________________________Madonna IS THE QUEEN OF POP WEATHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT SHE HAS BROKEN ANY RECORD THERE IS TO BE BROKEN! AND A TRUE QUEEN IS ORIGINAL EVERY SINGLE ARTIST KEEPS COPYING OUR QUEEN ON STYLE MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE! WHY? CAUSE SHE IS A ROLE MODEL AND THEY ALL WANT TO BE LIKE HER! DONE FACT! SHE STANDS AT NUMBER 2 ON THE BILLBOARDS BEST TOP ARTIST OF ALL TIME! GOOGLE IT SHE IS THE TRUE QUEEN OF POP____________________________________________Lady GaGa. (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta)._________________________________________________Britney Spears. The woman who defined pop music, pop culture of the entire thousands. The woman who is the best selling female artist of the entire decade. The woman who is the only woman to have every album debut at no1 and go platinum. The youngest woman to have a star on the walk of fame. Etc etc etc.Britney Spears - The 21st Century's Queen of Pop.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. Madonna is the queen of pop, and britney and gaga fall as princesses.Janet Jackson is Queen of Pop because she has talent on Madonna. Madonna sold more records indeed, but when it comes down to raw talent, and performance worthy artist-ship, Janet has the musical edge over Madonna. Madonna is a great artist but she's a product artist; Janet actually has the talent that propelled her to stardom-sorry people. Britney Spears is the reigning Princess of Pop indeed-sorry Lady GaGa; she just has the shock factor. Prince is music royalty as well but he has multiple musical genres so he's just a music sovereign much like Sade is. Prince of pop would most likely be Justin Timberlake, but if Justin Beiber can prove his dominance overtime in this illustrious genre this could change.Janet is the Queen of Pop sorry; I do know of Madonna's sales record and it's superior to Janet's. But considering talent, artistry, ability to perform, and writing ability Janet has the helm. We can accept that or not but guess what; it's all true. Both are hold the Queen of pop status; both Janet and Madonna. This is better than fighting on who is the QOP. Both of them made huge strides in the genera of pop. So it's better to say that both of these talented ladies are the QOP.______________________________________________________________________Janet & Madonna no longer hold the crown to Queen of Pop anymore. Whoever did back in the 90s is up to you guys, but Britney is without a doubt the Queen of the thousands, as Billboard, MTV, and loads of other stars state her as that. Janet & Madonna haven't done enough or hardly anything really to be rightfully Queen of the 21st century. Britney on the other hand has been unstoppable throughout the thousands. Sales have been through the roof, she's had amazing performances, mostly at VMA's that have gone down as iconic moments of all time at the VMAs. MTV & Teen Choice even admit it themselves that Britney shaped VMA & TCA into what it is now. She's defined pop music, and modern day pop culture. She's a massive trendsetter, music wise. Britney's Blackout was ahead of its time. It was pure electro pop, which came out in 07. Britney is Queen.
