In warhammer terms TAU is a young yet sophisticated army which includes kroots and fire units. Personally I believe Tau are the best with Eldar in warhammer 40k.

Anything that is close combat oriented & can move up the table quickly.
I think it really depends on how many you have or how much damage they do
AnswerLand Raider Crusader, or the Thunderhawk gunship or a Titan if you're willing to buy Forgeworld models
Answer Tyranids are always tricky to team up with, due to their mildly annoying habit of eating everything near them... However, if you play a genestealer cult army, then you can ally them with Guard, Orks or Tau. Fluff-wise, this allows you to say that the genestealers have implanted their geneseed into these races in order to infiltrate their bases, or gain access to technology.
Yes. All armies are able to beat the other armies....... there is no "Win every game" army for you to play.
Plasma grenades are wargear, which the Tau and other races can equip, which allow you to assault through cover without suffering penalties.
"No, because they are robots. If you are thinking of collecting a army, get the Blood Angles"This is false. Tau are not robots, they just use a lot of robotic war gear. They are a good army to play, as they have been fairly recently updated compared to some other armies (Necrons, Witch Hunters). Blood Angels have also been updated fairly recently, so they are also a good army to play.

The single most expensive model that is new in the box is also the largest: the Manta super-heavy flier for the Tau Empire. It's available from Forgeworld.co.UK. http://www.forgeworld.co.UK/acatalog/TAU_AIRCRAFT.HTML
