from the question we have currently:
f-3 = 24+s-3 and f = 5s
substituting f for 5s
5s-3 = 24+s-3
add 3 to each side
5s = 24+s
subtract 1 s from each side
4s = 24
divide each side by 4
s = 6
so currently the sons age is 6.
