∙ 11y agoPorcelain dolls that are old are generally the only valuable ones (Jumeau is the most valuable maker of porcelain dolls, and they are old). Porcelain dolls in stores now have very little value. The doll maker's mark is generally on the back of the head, down low near where the neck begins. Look also on the upper back area, too. The get a book on porcelain doll values to identify the one you have. The dollar values in books are always much lower than the doll is actually worth, so only use the books to help you identify your exact doll. The better the condition, the more valuable it is.

∙ 11y agoThis depends upon the individual doll. In general, the rarer the doll, the better condition it is in, the inclusion of original clothing and accessories and the older the doll, the more likely it is to be considered valuable.

There are doll collectors out there that do not consider porcelain dolls collectible. Actually, there are whole bunch of doll collectors out there that feel this way. Porcelain dolls are a modern collectible, and with age and rarity their values are relative. I would say that most porcelain dolls are not worth a lot of money. Frankly, those of us who collect these dolls, do so because we love them. Values of porcelain dolls have decreased since sites like eBay and Amazon have become popular. Like with any doll, the value is what someone is willing to pay for that particular doll. Some porcelain dolls, in my opinion, are priceless because of the joy it brings to the person that owns it.
