Angel Falls is the world\'s highest uninterrupted waterfall and it is located in Venezuela. It is the centerpiece of the Canaima National Park and a major tourist attraction in the country. The waterfall stands at a whopping 3212 feet (979 meters) tall and is fed by the Churun River. The indigenous Pemon people of the region have known about the waterfall for centuries but it wasn\'t until the first documented exploration of the region in 1937 that the rest of the world learned of its existence.

The waterfall was named after American aviator Jimmie Angel who was the first person to fly over the falls. Angel was part of an expedition to find the fabled "Lost World" of the Amazon and while they never found the mythical city they were searching for they did discover the massive waterfall and the surrounding landscape. Angel and his crew eventually returned to the falls and set up camp and it was during this trip that Angel named the falls after himself.

Angel Falls is a spectacular sight and has been a popular tourist destination since its discovery. It is also a source of inspiration for many with its breathtaking beauty and size. People come from all over the world to see the majestic falls and the surrounding area is home to a variety of wildlife flora and fauna. The falls have also become a symbol of Venezuela and its people and are a reminder of the country\'s natural beauty.
