Egyptions were the first settlers in Cyprus, then the Greeks came and the locals were "hellenize", then a bunch of other nations, then the Ottoman Empire took over but never managed to convert the population into Muslims...then the English took over from Turks, then was the independence of Cyprus after the Greek Cypriots fought and won against the English, then Greek Cypriots wanted Enosis (annexation) with Greece that's when Turkey found the opportunity to illegally invade Cyprus supposedely wanting to protect the Turkish cypriots living there (which isn't the case since the Turkish troops still remain in Cyprus after so many years) and now the country is divided into two parts South being Greek Cypriots and North being Turkish Cypriots. South is recongnised but nobody in the world recongnises the illegal North Turkish side.
The first settlers in Greece were (The Pelasgians). You can learn more about them with (Google.com).
