Starting lineup for Marquette in the 1977 NCAA Championship game: Bill Neary - F Bo Ellis - F Jerome Whitehead - C Butch Lee - G Gary Rosenberger - G Bernard Toone (F) and Jim Boylan (G) came off the bench and played the majority of the game. Marquette coach Al McGuire usually played only these seven players. Marquette beat North Carolina 67-59 to win its only NCAA Basketball Championship in McGuire's last game as coach of the Marquette Warriors.
