I don't believe there is a Swahili name for the Falls. The local name , Mosi-oa-Tunya is from Shona or Bemba. Swahili is from the area about 1,000 miles north east of the Victoria Falls area.
Victoria Falls- though the name was suggested earlier, was officially named posthumously. Victoria died on January 22, l90l.
