What??? Let's try this, again . . . the Missouri River is not the longest river in the US, and in any event is located far, far from where the colonists lived in New England.

The longest river is the Mississippi River, which the Missouri flows into. The Mississippi River has drained parts of Canada and the US for so long that it is difficult to pinpoint how old it is. It is certainly far older than the time that the first people came to North America.

3rd Answer.

The Missouri River is the longest river in the USA. At 2,341 miles (3,767 kms) it is 21 miles (47kms) longer than the Mississippi.
