The Orinoco River
The delta of the river that is south of the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago is the Orinoco. The Orinoco flows in an arc from Colombia to Venezuela for 1,700 miles.

The Orinoco River flows out of the mountains in eastern Colombia, and crosses central Venezuela west to east, entering the Caribbean Sea in a broad delta south of the island of Trinidad.
A delta is a triangle-shaped island at the mouth of a river that is formed from river sediments. Deltas are typically fertile areas due to the accumulation of nutrient-rich soil deposited by the river.

The Mekong River Delta is located in the southeastern region of Vietnam. This is where the Mekong River empties into the sea.
Not a lot of US carriers fly to Trinidad and Tobago so the chances of getting a direct flight from LA may not be good. Delta flies to Port of Spain but LA is not a main hub for them, expect to change at least once either in Atlanta or New York. The Shortest amount of time maybe anywhere from 10 - 15 hours where with connecting flights and layovers it may be anywhere up to 20 hours of travel time.
