What rivers are located in India?
The Indian government includes within its north cultural zone
the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab; and
the Union territory of Chandigarh. Within that zone are the Beas,
Chenab, Indus, Jhelum, Ravi and Satlej rivers. The Indian
government includes within its north central cultural zone the
states of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya
Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Inclusion of
that zone adds the Chambal, Ganga, Luni, Mahanadi, Namada and
Yamuna rivers to the list.
