Betsy Ross's family was caring and loving the only time they weren't supportive was when she married John Ross. It was because Betsy was a Quaker which was her culture but John wasn't so her parents wanted her to marry someone who was a Quaker. But Betsy didn't like that idea because she was in love with John. Betsy sister was supportive though because she was already married she had married a sailor and he sailed Betsy and John to the other side of the river to get married so that's just what they did.

Hurricane Betsy was a classic Cape Verde storm which developed on 27 August, 1965. It moved somewhat erratically in a northwest direction. It cut a swath through the Bahamas, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. Betsy then moved on to Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. After moving through Louisiana, Betsy headed north into Arkansas. From there the storm headed northeast, following the Mississippi River to the Ohio Valley and Pennsylvania. What was left of Betsy finally dissipated over Ohio on the 13tth of September.
She married John Ross in 1773 November 21st when they crossed the Delaware river just to get married that night

There's a recording by Rev. J. C. Burnett Vol 2 1927-1945 where he preaches/sings 'I don't want no trouble at the river". Hard to figure out the song, though. I saw it on itunes. "No Trouble at the river" was written by James Cleveland and is sang by the GMWA National Mass Choir. It is on the CD entitled "Torchbears of Excellence".
