The 5 largest lakes in the US are the 5 Great Lakes.

  1. Lake Superior
  2. Lake Michigan
  3. Lake Huron
  4. Lake Erie
  5. Lake Ontario

However, if you do not include lakes that are split between the US and Canada, the five largest are

  1. Lake Michigan
  2. Great Salt Lake
  3. Iliamna Lake
  4. Lake Oahe
  5. Lake Okeechobee

Lake Oahe is a man made lake and if you don't include these, then Lake Okeechobee would move up to spot #4 and spot #5 would be Lake Pontchartrain.
