St Lawrence River (between New York and Ontario) and St Croix River (between Maine and New Bruinswick) both form part of the International Boundary between Canada and the US.

Water is a major part of Canada's boundaries. The Pacific, Arctic and Atlantic Oceans combine to give Canada the longest coastline in the world. In addition, there are thousands of kilometers of freshwater boundaries, of which the St Lawrence River is a relatively small part. Canada shares a border with the USA which passes through four of the Great Lakes: Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario. Between Lakes Superior and Huron, the International Boundary runs through the St Marys River. Between Lakes Huron And Erie, the International Boundary runs through the St Clair River, Lake St Clair and the Detroit River. Between Lakes Erie and Ontario, the International Boundary runs through the Niagara River. Lake of the Woods, Rainy River, Rainy Lake, the Pigeon River, and roughly 40 smaller connecting lakes and rivers in and around Quetico Provincial Park also form part of the International Boundary.
The St. Lawrence Seaway connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean for commercial shipping.
