There is no such thing as "the sea" as sea is an area of coastal water (on the continental shelf); water above the abyssal plain/not enclosed by land is called an ocean.
So, to answer, no the English Channel is not bigger than the oceans or any part of sea - the English Channel is just an area of sea between mainland Europe and the southern coast of England. Look at it on a map.
