The Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx,NY
The toll on the Throgs Neck Bridge is not increasing on September 18th. The Throgs Neck Bridge connects the Bronx to Queens, and thus it is an MTA (Metro Transit Authority) facility. The MTA is New York State's transit authority. The new tolls effective September 18 are for the Port Authority crossings. The Port Authority runs the crossings that connect New York to New Jersey. The Throgs Neck Bridge does not connect to New Jersey, thus, it is not run by the Port Authority and the new tolls do not apply to it.
Nope. Throgs Neck and White Stone, neither have any commuter discount. They are $6.50 cash and $4.80 if you use EZ Pass. Toll needs to be paid for either directional usage of the bridge. And it is daylight legal robbery.
Pretty sure that it is the TBTA Police (Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority) it's own proprietary police department.
There is a Throg's Neck Bridge somewhere in New York, near the City. I've always wondered what it means. Maybe contact an historian or check an old encyclopedia.
There are several... From Staten Island is the Verrezano Bridge From Manhattan Island is the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, Queensboro Bridge (a/k/a 59th Street Bridge) and the Tri-Boro Bridge From the Bronx is the Tri-Boro Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge and the Whitstone Bridge.
Queens and The Bronx are connected by three bridges: The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the Throgs Neck Bridge, and the Triborough or Triboro Bridge, which is also called the Robert F. Kennedy or RFK Bridge. The current (as of December 30, 2010) toll for cars on all three of these bridges is $6.50 cash (without E-ZPass) and $4.80 with E-ZPass.
The toll depends on the size (number of axles) of the truck. For 2-axles the toll is $10.00. Each additional axles adds $6. 00 to the toll. Trucks using EZ-PASS pay $7.50 for the first 2 axles plus $4.50 for each additional.
