Better check your dates again. The first quarter minted by the US Mint was the Draped Bust Small Eagle Quarter Dollar in the year - 1796.
If your coin has a picture of George Washington on the front, please look at the back more closely. You have a modern State Quarter, and 1787 is the date that its state was admitted to the Union. The actual minting date is at the bottom of the coin's design, the same as it is on every one of the billions of state quarters minted from 1999 to 2008.
Any that you found in change are worth only 25 cents, except for the rare Delaware quarter with a rotated reverse design. This error can be confusing to determine, because all US Coins normally have their backs oriented 180 degrees opposite to the front. A rotated reverse points the same direction as the front design; that is, both sides point up (or point down) if you hold the coin and flip it like the page of a book.
If it has the dates 1797-1801, with the Statue of Liberty on the back, then it's a 2007 presidential dollar coin, worth one dollar.
4,000 dollars
The only US coin that has the dual-dates of 1797-1801 on the obverse is a 2007 John Adams Presidential dollar, the date and mintmark is on the edge of the coin. If you got the coin from a bank or change, it's face value. Only a proof or mint state coin will have a premium.
The coin is worth only a dollar.
Do you want to check those dates again? 1881 has nothing to do with President Adams. If you have a gold-colored coin that's 26 mm in diameter, the dates will be 1797-1801 and it's an ordinary circulation coin worth ... ba DING ... one dollar.
It's worth one dollar.
Take another look at that coin. The dates 1789-1797 are the years George Washington was President. John Tyler was President 1841-1845. Either way, it's a modern presidential dollar coin, worth one dollar.
Incertituded is not a word in English. If you mean authentic then take it to a certified dealer.
First thing is, it's not gold. Second is, unless the coin came out of a 2007 Uncirculated Mint Set, it has no more than face value. It's just a dollar, spend it.
