The Red River, located in the US, starts out in the Texas Panhandle and flows about 1,638 km (1,018 mi) eastward along the Texas-Oklahoma border. From there it goes through Arkansas, then shifts direction and flows south into Louisiana and then SE to the great Mississippi River. -I think Minnesota, but I can't be sure
