It took at least 8 years. However before them the motte an bailey castles were the ones u used to live in however they were made from wood and fire was a great weakness so william the conquror decided to use stone. that is how stone keep catsles were started

∙ 11y agoit depends on how many workers were building at a time and how high you wanted the castles to be. for a small castle it would have took 10-20 years however, a big/ large castle would take 30-45 years

From what I can gather, there are no records of Goodrich Castle being built. It is dated as late 11th or early 12th century, but we cannot know how long it took to build.
