Then adjust it by the other two screws and rotate the dumpy level 90 degrees and check whether the bubble shows a leveled stage. If it shows that the bubble is centered then it is O.K the dumpy level is leveled..... Then in order to take a reading, the u bubble should have to be leveled adjust the screw in the right side(there are a few adjusting screws,please get to know the actions performed by the screws, for that we must handle the instrument for sometime) and make sure the 'U' shape is formed.
