There are 2 fans that would be running while you are driving and that is normal... the compressor fan if you have the air conditioner running and the radiator fan runs to help keep the radiator cool while the engine is on.

Fan not running on a 96 impala?

I noticed while driving my Impala the temps stays at the normal operating temp but while sitting still the car runs near hot. I don't believe my fans are turning on when they should and if this is the case how do I address it?

1997 ford thunderbird runs hot at idel and cools off when driving why is that?

Check your radiator fan. The reason the vehicle cools when driving is because the airflow is much higher, cooling down the motor. Simply turn your t-bird on, let it run for a little while, and check that the radiator fan goes on. If it doesn't, there's your answer.

In your 1987 Toyota Cressida the coldhot meter shoots up to hot after driving but then will go back to normal while driving?

I would check the electric fan (if so equipt), when the engine stops the hot water is not circulated it needs the fan to cool it. When they get older the thermometer quits doing it's job.

Why would your car air conditioner run hot when in idle and blows cold air while driving?

Check to see if your condenser fan is running when a/c compressor kick on.

Your 2000 Durango 4.7L runs a good temperature while driving but overheats when in idle Have replaced thermostat flushed rad and no fluid loss Why overheat in idle?

Wouldn't be your thermostat, its going to be the fan motor for your cooling system. Because the wind that hits the motor while driving cools the motor but when you come to a stop and idle there isn't anything to cool the motor

Why does your AC cool your engine when it's overheating while driving?

Sounds Like Your Engine Fan Has Stopped Working, Or You Are Not Getting Enougn Air Moving Through Your Radiator. How It Works You Have A Fan That Runs When Your Engine Reaches a Tempature For It To Turn On. If You Turn The A/C On It Will Run The Other Fan For Pulling Air Through Your A/C Condensor & Help Cool The Engine Also. Have The Fan Checked. Hope This Helps

What is wrong with my jeep the temperature gauge raises runs hot after driving and I can smell it?

You may need anew thermostat or the fan has stopped working.

Why would the fan only work after air has been forced through it while driving?

sounds like the motor is bad. Loosing too much power, needs assistance from kinetic forces.
