Only blows cold air with the a/c on while driving, your cooling fan or fan clutch is bad depending on the year, make and model.......... Only blows cold air with the heater on while driving, you will have a bad or broken internal a/c - heater control door.....
if its not turning on then its broken.
Inoperative radiator fan.
It may be the fan belt.
I noticed while driving my Impala the temps stays at the normal operating temp but while sitting still the car runs near hot. I don't believe my fans are turning on when they should and if this is the case how do I address it?
Check your radiator fan. The reason the vehicle cools when driving is because the airflow is much higher, cooling down the motor. Simply turn your t-bird on, let it run for a little while, and check that the radiator fan goes on. If it doesn't, there's your answer.
I would check the electric fan (if so equipt), when the engine stops the hot water is not circulated it needs the fan to cool it. When they get older the thermometer quits doing it's job.
Check to see if your condenser fan is running when a/c compressor kick on.
Wouldn't be your thermostat, its going to be the fan motor for your cooling system. Because the wind that hits the motor while driving cools the motor but when you come to a stop and idle there isn't anything to cool the motor
Sounds Like Your Engine Fan Has Stopped Working, Or You Are Not Getting Enougn Air Moving Through Your Radiator. How It Works You Have A Fan That Runs When Your Engine Reaches a Tempature For It To Turn On. If You Turn The A/C On It Will Run The Other Fan For Pulling Air Through Your A/C Condensor & Help Cool The Engine Also. Have The Fan Checked. Hope This Helps
You may need anew thermostat or the fan has stopped working.
sounds like the motor is bad. Loosing too much power, needs assistance from kinetic forces.
