Scotland uses the +44 country code, as does the rest of the UK. So, you dial 011 44 then the Scottish number minus its leading zero.

For example, a Glasgow number (0141) 496 0018 would be dialled as 011 44 141 496 0018.

Which town in Scotland ? OR do you mean to dial Scotland from outside the UK. If that's the case - then you use country code +44 BUT remember to omit the first zero from the area code.

For example - say you were calling the Edinburgh number 0131 496 0018, you would dial:

00 44 131 496 0018 from Ireland

011 44 131 496 0018 from the USA

Scotland is too big for just one code

Examples >

Glasgow 01698

Aberdeen 01224

Dundee 01382

Fife 01592

Peterhead 01779

and so on ...

If your question refers to the international dialing code for Scotland, you don't need one when phoning from England as they are both constituent parts of the same country - the United Kingdom, country code +44.

The UK, including Scotland, uses telephone country code +44, which is dialed as 00 44 from Ireland. You then dial the domestic number, omitting the leading 0. For example, Glasgow's 0141 area code becomes +44 141.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
