What is the difference between copper and polystyrene as an insulator?

Copper is a conductor of electricity, meaning it allows the flow of electrical current, while polystyrene is an insulator, meaning it inhibits the flow of electrical current. Copper is a metal with high electrical conductivity, whereas polystyrene is a non-metallic, synthetic polymer with low electrical conductivity.

Why is Cooper used in wiring?

Copper has optimal electrical, mechanical and chemical properties and is relatively cheap and available. Sum of all these parameters makes the copper the best choice for using in electrical engineering.

What can pure copper be used for?

Pure copper can be used in electrical wiring and plumbing due to its excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. It is also used in the production of various industrial components, such as heat exchangers and motors, as well as in crafting artistic items and jewelry.

Is there any copper inside an arc welder?

Like any mechanical tool, machine or similar engineering equipment, an arc welder will have lots of different materials inside it. An arc welder is an electrical machine and any electrical machine must have wiring inside it. Most electrical wiring will be made of Copper. So yes, there is likely to be some Copper inside an arc welder.
