Hopefully, you took out an insurance policy on this expensive item. If so, you merely have to pay the deductible (usually $50) and receive a new or factory refurbished/rebuilt device. If there is no insurance, then you are out the money for a new one. Once the internal parts of these things gets wet, especially if they are powered up when the water got inside, most of the electronics will quickly short out and virtually "fry" internally, rendering them totally useless. You see, water is a conductor of electricity - not a good mix.
You need to try Silica Gel Packets to dry out your phone. There was a good article on associatedcontent.com that explains how to dry a wet cell phone, iPods, or any electronics. You need to place your cell phone in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the phone and its components, something air drying will not do!
Just Google "Silica Gel Packets" and you will find several companies selling these products. There is also a web site called: http://www.SilicaGelPackets.com that has them.
