Brand is basically irrelevant, as the components are all made in the same factories and assembled in the same plants. (Parts made in China, assembled in Mexico.)
What you're paying for in a brand name is the advertising that makes you THINK it's the best brand. Occasionally, you'll get short-changed on a knock-off by the lack of cooling materials like fans, but that's about it.
Go take a look at the TVs on display and see which one you like the best. That's the only way to be sure that you're getting the best TV for YOU. Bear in mind that default factory settings are usually sub-optimal.
Television brands are constantly changing. Among the big manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, JVC and others there are an increasing number of new and small brand names arriving on the market. While it might be argued that a Sony should last longer than the cheapest non branded model in the supermarket, there are very few bad televisions available today. When buying, you should ensure that you have a worthwhile warranty from a company that will be around in the coming years. Other than that, the important factors for any television are:
1
Is the size and budget correct?
2
Does it have the right inputs I will need to hook up everything I need?
3
What does the picture look like? This is probably the most important factor. You will spend as much as 1000 hours watching it each year. Make sure you like the picture you are looking at
The three technologies in use today are plasma, LCD and LED. Although there are differences in the way the images are created with each, there is now little to choose between them. Always be guided by your eyes rather than a specification.
A Panasonic Kuro is a very good over all flat-screen HD choice.
**edit... It does depend on the technology. Figure out which technology would work best for you and start to narrow things down from there.
Panasonic Kuro never existed. some of the best TV's ever made/ evaluated were Pioneer and Pioneer Elite Plasmas. The Kuro technology was part of their Plasmas.
It depends on what you define best. If you asked this question about 10 years ago, I wouldve definitely answered Sony but they have given up that spot long ago. Most people would automatically assume Samsung or Panasonic because they are the most heavily marketed brands in the U.S. however an experienced user would tell you otherwise.
I would say LG has the upper hand currently in TVs. Their HDTVs for 2D are impeccable. Their 3D LED TVs have also received the highest rating out of all major brand TVs in the most recent Consumer Report Reviews. However picture quality isn't the only criteria I use for defining the best TV. Comfort and durability are important factors and LG does exceptionally well. There might be complaints about LGs current designs however this will soon change. LG is soon releasing their high end LW9500 model, which is the thinnest LED TV yet with an ultra-thin bezel displaying nano LED. I have seen pictures of this TV and its appeal is exquisite. There are also models such as the LW6500 that are overall better than Samsung's, Sony, and Panasonics same-tier models in my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I own a blockbuster and own over 15 HDTVs. I have used many in my lifetime and right now currently, LG is the best.
There are a lot of brands out there for flat screen televisions. But some of the best brands out there would be: Sony, Vizio, JVC, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and many others. You just need to research yourself and see which one is best for what you are wanting.
the best TV brand on the market are all the LCD screens basically sony is the best followed by Panasonic and sumsang
Although strictly a matter of opinion, I believe Sharp is slightly best with LCD televisions than their competitor?
