The Wireless 'tab' usually refers to the software that controls the hardware. If you open 'Network Connection' and right-click on the 'Wireless Network Connection' and select 'Properties', one of the 'Tabs' shown on the screen will be for 'Wireless'. The tabs are meant to remind you of the tabs in a manila folder. For example, on the screen I am looking at now, there are 'tabs' at the top labelled 'Answer', 'Answer it!', 'Discussion', 'History' and 'Contributors'. I hope that makes some sense to you.
