The linkage is not connected to the door lock barrel. You will need to remove the inside door panel. Connect the linkage to the door lock barrel.
It's probably a linkage problem INSIDE the door. Linkage may have come off when a retainer broke or possibly when someone used a "slim jim" to open the door. They are notorious for damaging internal door linkage. But door linkage retainers can fail even if you've never used a slim jim. The repair isn't typically TOO difficult, the worst part is getting the door trim off the inside.
you have a few possibilities. the linkage could be disconnected on the handle, you could have broken linkage from the handle to the latch or your lock linkage could be disconnected while it is in the lock position. all of these can be accessed from the interior door trim panel. to get the door open you will probably have to remove the interior screws while the door is closed and pull back the panel as far as you can. be careful not to break it but you should be able to reach the linkage and open the door from inside the door frame
no. Use the other door for reference.
Did you find a resolution to this?
It appear either the linkage from the OUTSIDE handle is not connected or can be disconnected from the INSIDE door handle . If either is the case, you must force your way in through the top of the door trim and work the internal linkage manually. Good luck
Replace the outside door hanle, but first pull the interior door panel to see if the out side door handle linkage is busted.
Sounds like you left a retaining clip loose on one of the pull rods.
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the door handle linkage. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. The front door handle will come off.
