A good estimate rule for a price of most tile jobs is that you add up all your square feet of tile you need and then figure the cost of all the material it will take and then X (times) it by 2.5 for someone to supply and install it. If you are supplying the materials then after you times it by 2.5 then minus your material. Some tile layers will charge extra for corners and edges so it all depends where you live and what contracting company you use. If I was to have someone put tile in my shower I would have the contractor supply and install and that way they can warranty all of it if you have problems with it.
As owner of a tile installation company I'll give you a quick guide that I follow when I bid out every job I do. First I figure my "fixed Cost". These are the cost that are the bare minumum in materials to complete the job.
cement board for your shower walls: 3x5 foot sheet $11-15 a sheet.
thinset to install the tile: $12-15 a bag. each bag will cover about 50-60 square feet if you use a 3/8 by 1/4 inch notch trowel.
sandmix for creating the sloped floor in your shower. $6-8 a bag. a small shower takes about 2-3 bags
grout: depending on what quality of grout you want you can spend anywhere from $11-100 a bag or unit of grout. one 25 lbs. bag of grout goes a long way. you can do a small to medium shower and a 50 square foot bathroom floor easily with one bag if you're not using super small tile like 1x1 mosaic tile for the walls.
tile: this ranges greatly, you can get tile for $.60 to $15 and up a square foot. just depends on what you want to spend, .60 tile is cheap and cheap looking. decent tile is about $2.5-4 a foot.
so lets say you have a shower that is "U" shaped with each wall measuring 3 feet long and 8ft ceiling and you want to tile all three walls going all the way up to the ceiling. add total linear feet of walls and times it by the height (3+3+3)x8=72 plus shower floor 3x3=9 square feet of shower floor. total shower footage is 81 square feet. a round about price for setting materials and tile that cost $3 a foot for a shower like this would be about $450.00 or about $5.20 a foot. keep in mind this doesn't include decor strips, fancy decor tile, surface bullnose tile or soap dishes. all these must factor on top of the basic price of 5.20 a foot. If you hire someone expect anywhere from $8-15 dollars a foot in addition to the fix cost for labor. hope this helps give you an idea, good luck
£7,0000000000
approximately .33 cents per shower.
That depends on the fuel and the cost of the fuel and the temperature of mains water and the shower.
Its caused by dampness. The only solution to this is to strip your shower completely, tiles and old waterproofing (if any) and re-waterproof the shower and retile. I also recommend changing the shower trap and waste pipes along with the shower water pipes if one can afford to do so. Rather do the job once properly.
A glass shower enclosure will cost you around $1000. Most places will charge you a fee for installing these enclosures.
