my Bosch SHU4300 dishwasher does not have HOT water anymore. Is there an element in there?
An in home dishwasher is normally connected directly to the hot water supply. The water temperature set on the hot water heater will be the same as the water temperature in the dishwasher. Normal hot water heater temps are around 120 - 140 degrees dependent upon how high the hot water heater is set at.
Hot water line. If you did hook it up to your cold water line make sure your dishwasher is set to heat the water (some models have a selectable setting for this.)
All dishwashers in the US are hooked up to a hot water supply line only. Cold water does nothing for cleaning dishes.
Usually the dishwasher is located near a sink. If you run the hot water at the sink, that will flush the cold water from the hot water line, so the dishwasher will end up getting more hot water during its fill, and allowing the water to reach higher temperatures. Use the "Heated Wash" option to ensure maximum temperature increase. Dishwasher detergent works best around 145 degrees, so the hotter the water going in, the better it will clean.
when you wash your dishes, with hot water and soap, and rinse them off in hot water,

To use very hot water to clean and sanitise dishes
They use hot water and if it is not hot enough, the heating element used to dry the dishes will heat it to the right temperature.
Yes but any dishwasher using hot water will do it.
Yes you often can. This topic has been written about here http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/wordpress/can-you-connect-a-dishwasher-to-the-hot-water-supply/
No. A dishwasher will not sanitize dishes unless the option is turned on. A normal cycle will use very hot water to wash and itβs good enough. A sanitary cycle heats water to 170 degrees. You should have a good reason to use this cycle.
