Graffiti can symbolize many things, it depends on the persons personal opinions really. My personal take on it is that it's a sign of us (as in the people) taking back what is ethically ours. I don't believe there is such thing as public property because if it belonged to the public we would be allowed to have it whatever way we wanted without question, if buildings can be built by the 10% of the population with the money to alter our environment without a public debate then why should us peasants have to. Also I believe painting derelict buildings is a sign of moving forward, urbexers may want to preserve the past and take photos of it all but I believe that leaving old buildings to rot and building over fresh land at the cost of the environment is a disgrace and a greater form of vandalism. Also don't place any political stereotypes on them, I've met vandals and artists from both sides of the political spectrum.
