If you have Microsoft Outlook, then backup all your contacts to that. The iPhone will synch those contacts easily, and painlessly. Otherwise you will need to save the contacts to your PC via going to the store and having them save the contacts onto a USB drive in a pbb file. Then extract this with the application Content Manager.
Hi don`t be like me and look for problems that don't exist. You can easily import your simcard contacts to your new Iphone by simply going into `settings`.. `mail,contacts,calendars`, scroll down to ``import SIM contacts``. so easy
With the iPhone connected to the computer:
1. Open iTunes on the computer
2. Click on the iPhone icon in the left side panel
3. Click on the Info tab
4. Under contacts change sync with to Yahoo.
Solution without the need for iTunes sync:
1. Export your Yahoo contacts to your PC by logging in to your Y! account
2. Import the contact entries from your PC to your iPhone via CopyTrans Contacts (3rd party tool; linked below)
I know that you can import contacts from Outlook to the iPhone, but I'm not sure if this is also valid for the other direction. The best thing would be to try it out. (Create an iOS backup first, to make sure all your contacts are stored on your PC). Go to iTunes, plug in your iPhone and select it in iTunes. Go to the "Info" tab and select "synchronize with Outlook". Once prompted select merge contacts, otherwise contacts on your iPhone will be replaced with the contacts from Outlook.
