Use tan colored felt and cut them out in the shape of a body, use scratch fabric or stuffing to stuff them and sew them shut. Once they're closed, used black fabric to make robes, brown/red to make hair, and any other accessories you may need. You can easily hot glue these on, or even use a felt marker to paint them on.
