How do you get free Club Penguin items?

I think you click on to but something like you know where you can buy like for example new chairs and tables for the penguin guest to eat and new roller scates for the waiter. and i think you have to keep looking to see if you can find the clothes but hey i might be wrong xxx :} hopefully i wont be wrong lol

You can't get clothes if you're not a member. Even if you are, you have to wait till a holiday or something to get free clothes.
Wait for holidays or special parties to happen. There are usually boxes with clothing items in them, for example, santa hats. You walk up to them and a dialog box pops up to ask you if you want to get "item name", you click "Ok" and then you have the item.

you can get a bracelet in the book room, if ur 45 days old you can get a tour guide hat from doing the quiz at the ski village, you can perm a mailbag with penguin storm 4 and that's about it without paying and also the events sometimes give away free items e.g at Christmas theres santa hats

Usually there's free clothing items when there's a party. You don't need to be a member to get them. They can be anywhere around Club Penguin except for igloos or secret rooms like the Head Quarters and the Ninja Hideout. There might be some in rooms for members. To find a free item in a party, look everywhere in Club Penguin. When you find it, walk over to it. It will ask you if you want it. Click YES to have it.
