Zombie where made in your bed with all your seamen and your nikon d5100 is know broken.
amazon, best buy, etc.
Yes, if it is an f mount.
Yes, you can. Nikon uses Nikon F-mount to connect the lens to the camera. Sometimes other manufacturers change their mount, but Nikon never did, so you can still even use analog lenses.
Strengths opposed to what? Don't get a D3100. Spend the $50 extra and at least get a D5100 if not a D7000.
The Nikon D7000 Digital SLR is generally acknowledged as Nikon's best in SLR photography. There top seller the D5100 is similar, excluding a few features but is cheaper with a price tag of $849, compared to the D7000 priced at $1,095.
I was waiting "for something better to come out" when I bought the D5100 in June, 2011. Now, in November, they do have the new cameras with a prime lens. These are better, for some people. It all depends on how serious you are about photography and your best use. I use the D5100 for making professional photographs in a variety of settings: outdoor, studio, weddings, classroom. It is a great camera; just not the best one. Consider it a mid-range machine, but an excellent one. I know a professional photographer that uses his "best" cameras for photographs but uses the D5100 exclusively for taking video.
