The answer would depend on what kind of a game you are wanting to play. The M14 would provide a more open ended platform for play, as you can play in full aeg mode and provide cover fire, and then go to semi mode and do some sniping. If you are wanting to only play as a sniper, you might want to go full out and get a designated sniper rifle and all the kit. Personally I would probably agree with the first poster and go with the m14 simply for a more versatile weapon. Most serious snipers go with a bolt action spring rifle for power and reliability.
