The Korean War (1950-1953) was the last official war for the M1 Garand rifle in the US military. It was replaced by the M14 Service Rifle, which went to Vietnam in 1965. Which in turn was replaced by the M16 Assault Rifle in about 1966/67.
Airsoft M1 Garands are often hard to find in stores, however online shops such as Redwolf Airsoft sell gas-operated Marushin, Tanaka and Maruzen M1 Garands, all of excellent quality. Unfortunately they are all very costly ( the minimum value being around 300 UD and the maximum around 1000 UD.
Airsoft M1 Garands go for around $400, and can be found at numerous airsoft gun sites. Realistic non firing replicas are made by Hudson, and go for around $600
The M14 was designed as the T44 experimental rifle, an evolutionary step above the M1 Garand used during World War II, in 1954. It entered production in 1959. Production was halted in 1964 when the M14 was replaced on the frontlines by the M16 assault rifle.
No, it's a bit more complicated than that. It does, however, use the action from the Garand.
Durability and accuracy do not necessarily go together. Military firearms, such as the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M14 (OK, so the M14 is also full auto) and the SKS are incredibly durable. However, for accuracy, I am partial to the Browning BAR family of rifles. They are also pretty durable.
AK-47, Mosin-Nagant, SKS, some Dragunovs, the M14 and the M1 Garand are a few
The M1 Garand wasa government issued rifleof the United States during WWII and into the 1950's and very early 1960's. It was followed by the M14.The M14 was then followed by the M16. Very strange, when I went through Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island they issued the M 14, however, when I went to Camp Geiger for Advance Infantry Training they issued the M1 Garand. When I finished the training I was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune NC where I was once again issued the M14. All this ocurred in 1966.
NO!...NO! NO! NO! A M1 Grand takes a 30-06. It HAS to be a 30-06 PERIOD! It wont take an ordinary 30 caliber
1936- and it is the M1 Garand- named for the creator. Notice the difference in spelling of Garand.
