What is the chance that a second baby will be a girl?

At present the global probability of a new-born child being a girl is approx 0.48 and so this is a simple answer to the question. However, the gender of a child depends on the ages and genes of the parents and that will be different for each set of parents.

Who is responsible for sex determination?

Sex determination is primarily determined by the presence of specific chromosomes. In humans, individuals with XX chromosomes typically develop into females, while individuals with XY chromosomes typically develop into males. This process is regulated by specific genes that control the development of primary and secondary sexual characteristics.

The sex of mammals is determined by?

The sex of mammals is determined by their combination of sex chromosomes. In most mammals, females have two X chromosomes (XX) and males have one X and one Y chromosome (XY). The presence or absence of a Y chromosome is the primary factor that determines whether an individual will develop as male or female.

How is the sex of a crocodile determined?

The sex of a crocodile is typically determined by the temperature at which the eggs are incubated. In general, warmer temperatures during incubation result in more males, while cooler temperatures result in more females. This phenomenon is known as temperature-dependent sex determination.

How is the sex of an embryo determined?

The sex of an embryo is determined by the combination of sex chromosomes inherited from the mother and father. Typically, females have two X chromosomes (XX) and males have one X and one Y chromosome (XY). The presence of a Y chromosome triggers the development of male characteristics.

Who makes the sex of a baby?

The sex of a baby is determined by the chromosomes carried by the father's sperm. If the sperm carries an X chromosome, the baby will be female, and if it carries a Y chromosome, the baby will be male.

What is the ratio of a baby being male or female?

The ratio of male to female babies born is approximately 1:1, meaning that for every male baby born, there is also a female baby born. This balanced ratio is a result of the combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Is it the guy's sperm that makes the gender of a baby?

Yes. Sperm carry either an X or a Y chromosome. The eggs from a female's ovaries is always X.

If the sperm has an X chromosome, the baby will be female.

If the sperm has a Y chromosome, the baby will be male.

Are more males or females born each year?

Worldwide, there are 107 boy babies born for every 100 girl babies.

This slightly skewed ratio is partly due to sex-selective abortion and the killing of female infants when males are more desired. Boys have a higher death rate, both as infants and adults, so the ratio later in life is slightly different. Specifically, for every 1,000 people in the world, 504 are men (50.4%) and 496 are women (49.6%).

What is the normal heartbeat of a male fetus?

at 10 1/2 weeks a babies heartbeat should be between 140 and 150

Not all pregnancies are the same, i should know, I'm having my 6th one. From what i was told with my pregnancies, was that for boys, the normal beat would be between 130/139 and for girls 140/150. If it's much over or much under, only your ob doctor can tell you if it's ok or not. I'm 30 weeks now and my doctor told me the beat was 152, i was worried because my other daughter didn't have it that high and on top of that, he told me i was having a boy. My ob says that as long as the heart beat stays between 120 to 160, it should be fine. Again, it all depends on your doctor. This early in the pregnancy, i definitely would suggest to get a pro's opinion.

ACOG expanded their guidelines to include heartbeats from 110-160 as a normal range during pregnancy.

Although, as you get closer to term, more important factors contribute to good fetal heart tones (FHTs) than just heart rate including variability, absence of decels, presence of accels, and a reactive strip.

160 heart beats is that a girl or more likely a boy?

It is impossible to tell by rate of the heartbeat. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is speaking old wives tales. The above answerer said that you can tell for sure by an ultrasound. You cannot. Sometimes the baby keeps its legs together or is at a difficult angle and you sonographer can't see, and sometimes it is just impossible to tell.

How far along in pregnancy until you find out the gender?

This is normally done at a scan around 16 to 22 weeks along depending on your dr.

What are the signs of having a girl?

There are no specific signs. all you can know about it is that your doctor tells you.

How can you tell if the baby is a boy or a girl?

well after the baby comes out, the doctors will check where their privates are, (if you don't know what i mean, i mean where they pee from). boys have different privates from girls.

Can you choose the gender of your baby if you are already pregnant?

No. The person who choses the gender of the baby is the guy. Why? Because it depends on how much sperms the male puts in the female,if the male puts alot it will come out as a girl and if it's alittle bit of sperms the sex of the baby will be a boy.
